Local Church Partnerships

As a parachurch ministry, BCM O‘ahu seeks to help Hawai‘i-Pacific Baptist churches engage, develop, and mobilize next generations to become servant-leaders for Christ both locally and globally.

UH Mānoa is home to approximately 20,000 students from Hawai‘i, the mainland U.S., and across the world. This means that we get new opportunities every day to meet college students who are continuously transforming society by their very presence alone. Our campuses are full of people longing to make something more of their lives, and we get to invite them into communion with God.

We want to invite college students into community, share the Gospel with them, and get them plugged into discipleship with our local churches. But in order for us to accomplish the third step, we need your partnership and we're inviting you to join us as we reach out to these students.

We are increasingly finding that the younger generation is largely unreached and unchurched, meaning that they've never heard the Gospel or stepped foot into a church before. But they are highly relational, deeply skeptical, and extremely curious. This is our chance to reach them with God's love and truth!

Here are some ways you can partner with us:

  • You can send a representative from your church to come to our events and meet new students and invite them to church with you. Many students are skeptical of church and religion, but they love making personal connections—relationships are key!

  • Our weekly worship service meets every Tuesday on campus at 7PM. We meet at Watanabe Hall 112. This is a great opportunity for pastors and college ministers to share about their churches and get to know students who are looking for a church to plug into.

  • Students find it easiest to connect when it's with their peers. If your church has a college ministry, send some of your students to our events and have them connect with ours!

  • Support us by sponsoring an event! Students are drawn to free food, so this is one way you can be visible and share generously with them. Stick around at an event you're sponsoring and make connections with those that attend.
