LARGE GROUP GATHERINGS

During the semester, we meet for The Vine on Tuesday evenings at the BCM (located 2042 Vancouver Avenue - across the street from UH’s Shidler College of Business). The Vine provides college students an opportunity to meet other students and to engage in discussions about the Bible and how it applies to faith and the college experience.

We also host monthly fun events such as game nights, day hikes, beach outings, craft nights, and other activities. At these events, we want college students to feel welcome to come and go as they please, invite their friends, and have a fun time connecting with others.

Visit our social media to find out the latest updates and events happening!

SMALL GROUP GATHERINGS

We also have multiple opportunities for students to grow deeper in their faith and connect with others in smaller, more intimate settings through small groups and discipleship.

Our small groups are usually held during the week and provide different spaces and activities to meet different needs. Some of our small groups include weekly Bible studies, girls’ and guys’ nights.

We also help students develop life-long spiritual disciplines and grow a deeper walk with Christ through discipleship groups (d-group) and one-on-one discipleship. If you are interested in getting involved in a d-group or one-on-one, please contact one of our staff and we’ll get you plugged in!

TRAININGS AND CONFERENCES

We provide a number of leadership, evangelism, and missions trainings throughout the year to equip students to grow and serve in their different communities, churches, and in their post-grad careers.

The Gathering is our annual three-day retreats where BCM O‘ahu and Hilo BCM get together to learn and develop new strategies to reach college students, disciple others, and grow closer to God. Aside from the training, there are also a number of fun events and activities during the retreat. Every year, our respective ministries take turns hosting The Gathering on O‘ahu and Hawai‘i Island.

SERVICE PROJECTS AND MISSION TRIPS

Throughout the semester, our ministry partners with various churches and ministries in our Hawaii Pacific Baptist network to serve where a need arises.

One of our key partners is Hāmama Community Church, located in Kahalu‘u. We have been blessed to partner with Hāmama over the years by helping them cultivate their lo‘i (wetland taro patches), learn to honor the Hawaiian culture from their kūpuna (elders), and serve the Windward-side community, home to many locals settlers and Native Hawaiians.

We have also developed partnerships with other collegiate ministries across the country, incl. Christian Challenge NAU, Christian Challenge CSUC, and LSU-BCM.
